n. [Gr. akros, tip; sternon, chest]
(ARTHROPODA: Insecta)
That part of the narrow marginal flange anterior to the antecosta of a definitive sternal plate, including the preceding primary intersegmental sclerotization; normally found on abdominal sterna, but absent on thoracic sterna.
